A couple of weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to guest speak at the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Edmonton AGM and Capital Award to share my story and journey.
Challenge yourself consistently will eventually pay off. I chose not to script my Livestream show like The Biz Check-In, which lead me to be a better speaker in person.
IABC's theme for this year was Face the Impossible, which seemed very fitting for a range of challenges that fell on people over the last couple of months. It was the first opportunity I have had to speak to a room (digital) full of communications experts, and it was a blast. I was able to share my experiences from navigating life as a black youth to being a pro-gamer in Edmonton.
I wish I dove a bit deeper into some more practical advice for people looking for more information within the Black Live Matter push, but I will remember that for next time. Check out the video below and let me know what you think!
Last night I had opportunity to present a Pecha Kucha style presentation at Edmonton design week 2022. This type of presentation is 20×20. I have to produce 20 slides and only have 20 seconds to talk about each slide.
